For asking you
To choose the restaurant and
To make the reservations
but I don’t know the city
like you do
For the time it took me to get here
For my slightly wrinkled suit
For having to take a cab
For the occasional yawn
it’s just the jet lag
But most of all
For not making it clear earlier -
If you’re willing to say ‘yes,’
I’m willing to cross the globe
To hear it
And will stay
As long as you continue
To say it.
